So with my lovely girlfriend, i went and saw it. Orange wednesday, awesome. Nobody in the cinema, awesome, no idiots to disturb like when i saw Harry Potter 6… So i start watching it. And the first scene is half an hour long, or what seemed like that long, basically ending up with a smarmy Nazi thinking he can shoot so far with a Luger and realising he cant, and therefore starting our incredibly long winded story with an escaping Jew.

ESSENTIALLY, my complaints about this film are media related, i.e. the fact that it is advertised as an action film, all the trailers use up basically all the violent scenes from the film to make them appealing, and yet, save for the last half an hour, there are maybe 5-10 minutes of violence in the film. That is less than 10% of the first 2 hours as violence in any form. I would expect an action film to provide at least 25% violence/action in 2 hours. This meant i was relatively bored for a long time, other than the cringing of knife meeting forehead or bat meeting ear, and thus uncomfortable while realising the film wasnt going anywhere fast. The bits i remember liking are: the chinese guy from Not Another Teen Movie makes an appearance as a Basterd, the German guy wields an MG42, [spoiler alert] Brad Pitt NOT dying, the jew bear being revealed and the cinema bit.

The film is well directed in my opinion, given my limited film expertise, and the casting is more or less perfect, especially with Goebbels actually looking like Goebbels, (but the caped Hitler was a bit excessive), and the bit in britain with a 5 miunte cameo role from Mike Myers was ridiculously stereotypical and scenes were just ridiculously extended. I think QT did his own editing and thought everything in a few scenes were so brilliant they shouldnt be edited out…

In conclusion, i felt that the film was one massive backround story building up to the last half an hour punch up. Now you may say that this is the way films are structured and thats they way they have always been, but this felt rushed, as if the last half an hour had been the only edited part and it was just made so short to fit into the acceptable length of a regular big Hollywood film. It was like a big sneeze, or sex. A big build up where not much happens, and then everything happens all at once at the end and when its all over, you feel exhausted, relieved and staisfied.

i would say 5/10. Make it an hour shorter and change the trailer and it may get a 7.

Now i dont know why people usually start blogs. I decided to start one this grey evening in July because i want to vent about things. I have been told i dont like anything or anybody. Mention a celebrity and i could go off on a rant about them for a long period of time, and thats no good to anybody. But i do like some things, and my blogs wont all be about rants. Hopefully. I just think that some things people should learn from, and change for the better, other things people should learn to live with, and other things people should just leave the fuck alone. Oh yeah, and sorry for all the swearing in advance.

Now recently, ive had quite a few things that have really got on my tits. The most recent is a rather annoying Microsoft fiasco, involving my 18 month old Xbox 360. Now i dont want to get into a PS3 vs 360 row, but 360′s are better. Now. I recieved my 360 free with a phone deal from a company we will call P4U, and i was ecstatic because it was free and my parents were paying for the phone. So i recieved it through the post and it was broken, i.e. 3 red rings of death, so much argments with P4U ensued and eventually, after about 3 months i got a working one. Now back to 2009. In march, i finally got round to asking Microsoft to repair my xbox which had been freezing for the past 2 months or so. It was out of warranty, of course, so i had to pay the best part of £75 to get it shipped to Frankfurt, have it repaired, then have it sent home. Which i didn’t really like that much, because all new 360s were getting 3 year warranties, so why shouldn’t mine? And why does it have to go to fecking Frankfurt? Couldn’t it go somewhere that would cost me less? But anyway, i accepted Ballmer‘s bullshit and sent my xbox off, which was repaired and sent back to me withing a week. Ace, i thought.

Flip to 2 months later, and Call of Duty:World at War starts to play up, freezing during singleplayer. So i switched to Xbox LIVE and loved every minute of it. But then it starts to happen on every game. And all the time. And i started to wonder what Steve and his German engineers had done to it, because it wasnt in a hot place, it was well ventilated, it doesnt get too dusty and none of the disks are fucked, so what was going on? So even though they renewed my warranty, and its all for free, i have wasted X amount of pounds on Live subscriptions and other stuff, all to have my wonderful white box blow up in my face again. Surely it should have lasted at least another 6 months before breaking? Well i want Bill Gates back.

My next port of call is women. Yes women. Cant live with them, cant live without them. Im in my very late teens, and i think ive seen everything that a woman can throw at us men, but still they keep popping up with suprises. I’ve had pregnancy scares, limpets who wont let anything go, ones who lead you on ALL the time, and then a new one recently. The first is attention. Some girls want attention all the time, from everyone. Others dont want any, and the rest want a strange combination of the two. [EDITED FOR HEALTH REASONS] Frustrating. ARGH.

Not too short, and quite disjointed, and not very good tbh, but im sure i will get better as time wears on…
